In the Eastern Mediterranean region, Turkish policy is no different now than it was before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, points out George Tzogopoulos, in an article for the newspaper TA NEA. However, as Tzogopoulos explains, priorities are shifting. Reduced demand for energy makes discussions about the EastMed Gas Forum untimely. This realistically means that Ankara, that relies on its own drilling rigs, is gaining a temporary lead.
