“We have to transition to a climate-neutral economy in a manner that is fair to the local communities. What does a fair transition entail? Not only the replacement of jobs lost but also the long term environmental and economic sustainability of the investment made, to the benefit of the local communities. And what is needed to achieve this? First and foremost, strategic planning, within a framework of policy with concrete goals and timelines and, certainly, funding,” said Emmanuella Doussis in her interview with Athens 9.84.
