The UN Secretary General’s Personal Envoy on Cyprus, Maria Holguin Cuellar, suggests that “we must think differently” to find a solution to the Cyprus problem”, as we did with Greek-Turkish relations when “we learned to talk / quietly, quietly and simply”, to quote the Greek poet Yiannis Ritsos. As the Mitsotakis-Erdogan meeting in Washington last week confirmed, we have uncharted territory in Greek-Turkish relations.
