As a guest on ERT’s current affairs show PRIME, ELIAMEP President Prof. Loukas Tsoukalis talked with Elias Siakantaris about political developments in France, the appointment of Michel Barnier as the new French Prime Minister, and how political instability within the Franco-German axis affects the EU decision-making process. They also discussed the problems created for European foreign policy by the unanimity rule and the solution proposed by Mr Tsoukalis in his book Europe’s Coming of Age, which was analyzed in a recent Financial Times article. The two also talked about the inability of the US to impose its red lines on the Netanyahu government.
