Vassilis Hatzopoulos, wrote an article at the academic journal “European Law” on non-state Universities and their compliance with European Law.
Law 5094/2024 on non-state Universities was promoted as a means of bringing the Greek legal order in line with EU law – and as such would justify the circumvention of Article 16 of the Constitution. However, an analysis of the Law shows that it is in direct contradiction both with the rules on establishment and with a number of fundamental rights protected by EU law.
