Ioannis Armakolas appeared on ERT’s “SYNORA” programme with journalist Kalli Zarali where he spoke about the results of the recent survey conducted by ELIAMEP in cooperation with the Public Opinion and Market Research Unit of the Research Institute of the University of Macedonia on Greek public opinion and attitudes towards Albania, Albanians and Greek-Albanian relations.

Among others, I. Armakolas referred to the overall picture at the social level that places Greek-Albanian relations at their best, with the majority of respondents having a positive opinion of Albanian immigrants in Greece and their contribution to its economic development, and the vast majority of them considering that their children are fully integrated. At the level of bilateral relations, he underlined that the picture is more complex, with the survey reflecting the very negative attitude and concern of the Greek public opinion on the issue of Beleri and the rights of the Greek minority in Albania.
