Ioannis Armakolas was a guest on the show “ЕВРОПАТ” (Televizija 24Vesti, North Macedonia) where he spoke with journalist Lepa Dzundeva about the developments regarding the bilateral relations between Greece and North Macedonia.

Ioannis Armakolas underlined the wait-and-see attitude of Greece, the US and the EU regarding the official positions of the new VMRO-DPMNE government, stressing how the veto on the European path of North Macedonia should be considered a one-way street in case the official positions are kept in line with the recent statements of the new President and the new Prime Minister.

At the same time, he said that an important opportunity for the development of closer relations between the two countries has been missed in the past years, while regarding the case of an appeal to the International Court of Justice, he said that Greece will try to pressure North Macedonia to comply with the provisions of the Prespa Agreement with the support of international partners, especially the US. Finally, he said that the annulment of the Agreement does not favor or serve the interests of either side.
