The South-East Europe Programme of ELIAMEP and the Gani Bobi Centre based in Pristina, jointly implemented the research project “Building new bridges in the Balkans: Understanding misunderstandings between Greece and Kosovo“.

The project aimed to address the problem of national stereotypes in the Southern Balkans, with special emphasis on Greek society and its perceptions of Kosovo and Albanians in general, taking into account the difficulty of relations between Greece and Kosovo. For that purpose, the project utilized existing knowledge and generated new data on national stereotypes, with an emphasis on Greek perceptions of Kosovo and Albanians. Moreover, the project initiated a process of addressing those stereotypes by organizing activities targeting both key specialized groups and the wider public.

The project was funded by the Kosovo Open Society Foundation (KFOS).
